Take note iPhone users who record video! (I must admit, this drive me nuts!) **Video contains 2 censored expletives
Love this find that Dan Pink posted on his blog from an ad campaign for College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Very funny. Intervention required?
As our new school year begins next week, I’ll be finding myself no longer teaching elementary Drama, but only teaching Art from grades 6-11. I guess I better brush up (no pun intended) on my Appreciation Of Art (below).
With the new Tron movie coming out this year and the soundtrack being done by Daft Punk, I stumbled across this video of how to make a Daft Punk helmet in 749 steps (and 17 months) by replica and prop maker Harrison Krix. Interesting!
I proceed teaching my graphic design unit in grade 9 and my grade 3 drama class the use of voice for persuasion. We lightly began discussing infomercials as an off topic. I then remembered the video below (it is a little old now and I believe the order number is no longer in service — sorry). Of course, I will not use this with my grade 3s but perhaps you need an advertising/infomercial/commercial resource for film/video/social studies to ignite a conversation starter or to show the whole absurdity of this? Have a look at it. All I can really say is “far out.” More Culture of Fear anyone? (Thanks to Luke S. for the forward about one year ago).
This video was passed on to me via coworkers. Do you think outside the box? Do you encourage your students to do so? Do you get carried away?
As I prepare for my next unit on graphic design, I stumbled across this humorous Australian video:

Sorry. If your parents never had children, chances are you won’t, either…Best regards :p, Francesca.
Dear Francesca,
You are correct. If my parents never had children, I…uh…won’t either I guess. Actually, it would be impossible. This statement really made me consider my existence. Thank you for that. It really was very deep.
Could you help me. Looks good. Very useful, good stuff. Good resources here. Thanks much. Help me! Please help find sites for: Wellbutrin 4u. I found only this – buy wellbutrin sr bupropion utah. Wellbutrin, and it is long vomiting this, whenever i am monitored by an people accounted chance, i seem. I am of the amitriptyline to get own, wellbutrin. THX , Ned from Tuvalu.

Hello everyone. Your parents, they give you your life, but then they try to give you their life. I am from Libya and also now’m speaking English, please tell me right I wrote the following sentence: “Criminal justice, features for arrest process in bexar sex for sheep trends and vote’s make authenticating up continued ages in-depth as employment.”
With love , Asha.
Dear Asha,
Please, keep studying English. You will quickly learn that we usually don’t put the words “arrest,” “sex” and “sheep” in the same sentence. Too many connotations even if it doesn’t have any real meaning.
Good Day. A boy can learn a lot from a dog: obedience, loyalty, and the importance of turning around three times before lying down.
THX 8-), Lila.
Dear Lila,
I agree. It took me a while to turn three times before lying down but I have been converted to its benefits even though my wife finds it strange. It was a top tip. I even learnt it without owning a dog.

Following on the heels of my previous post on using video in the classroom, I thought now would be a good time to post this. I am getting married this summer and since I am an art/ICT teacher, I am very picky with photographers and videographers. Prices are expensive and I want exactly what I want. I would prefer raw footage and simply edit it all myself.
A co-worker passed this video gem onto me (thanks Luke). Perhaps? Perhaps not. I will hang onto this clip though as an example to use with future classes when doing video. There’s so much here to discuss – transitions, music, delivery etc. At least they used a green screen. But I am not so sure about the inclusion of Ogopogo at the end. However, the more I watch it, the more I am intrigued and drawn in. It is so bad, that it is good. Sharon, bless you.
(To be honest, I am tempted to use them for a ‘secondary’ video.) They have become rather popular as a slight Internet phenomenon. I wonder if the prices and demand for their services have gone up? Their YouTube channel is here and it is also worth checking out.
